FAQ

Booking and quotation

From initial enquiry to booking confirmation, prepare the information first.

How early should I book a move?

It is generally recommended to enquire around 1 to 3 weeks before moving. Please allow more time for month-end, weekends and around public holidays. Please first provide your preferred date, the moving-out and moving-in locations, and an approximate list of items, so we can check availability. Submitting an enquiry does not mean a slot has been reserved; arrangements must be confirmed by both parties, and the deposit or payment must be completed by the specified deadline.

How do I get a quote? What information do I need to provide?

You can use the "online quotation" function to upload photos or fill in the item list, then select the services needed, such as moving, disposal, storage, furniture assembly or dismantling. For moving enquiries, please fill in the collection and delivery addresses, date and floor levels, and explain the staircase, parking and platform-to-lift arrangement at both ends. The system will organise your enquiry, but you still need to press send in WhatsApp. Once we receive it, we will check the details and then provide a written quotation.

Will the quotation be provided in writing?

Yes. We will list the confirmed scope of work and charges based on the items, route and service requirements provided. Please check the addresses, date, quantity of items, packing/disassembly requirements, and whether the quotation includes the relevant additional charges. If anything is unclear, raise it before payment and service confirmation; do not rely only on a verbal estimate when setting your budget.

Can we quote from photos? How should the photos be taken?

Photos can help with a preliminary identification of items, but one photo alone cannot confirm all the work or the final price. It is recommended to take a full-room shot first, then additional photos of large furniture, appliances, parts needing dismantling, and narrow passages, so as not to miss items inside boxes or cabinets by only photographing the exterior. Please check the identification results, quantities and dimensions yourself; items not visible and charges that cannot be confirmed still need to be added and assessed separately.

Which areas are covered?

General services cover Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories locations accessible by road vehicles. For Village Houses, restricted areas, outlying islands or addresses requiring special access permits, please provide detailed location and transport restrictions so we can first confirm whether arrangements can be made. The area information shown on the website does not mean every address or every moving requirement can definitely be accepted.

Can moving be arranged on weekends, public holidays or at a specified time slot?

When enquiring, please state your preferred date and acceptable time period. We will confirm based on schedule, the building's moving rules and workload. Even if the team is available, the building may still restrict the time for truck loading/unloading or use of the freight lift, so please check with the management office first. The specified time slot and related charges are subject to written confirmation, and submitting the form does not mean the booking is successful.

FAQ

Charges and on-site environment

Learn about item totals, surcharges and the moving routes at both ends.

Is the amount from the moving cost calculation the final price?

No. The tool only totals the moving unit prices for selected items according to the price list, and does not automatically include minimum charges, stairs, pushing distance, parking, landings, lift transfers and other fees. Other services and unmatched items in the online quotation may also need manual confirmation. Please treat the result as an item subtotal only; the final scope of work and total fee are subject to the written quotation.

Is there a minimum charge for moving services?

The current terms state a minimum charge of HK$1,000 from Monday to Friday, and HK$1,500 on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Even if the subtotal of item unit prices is lower, that does not mean the service can be completed at that subtotal; applicable surcharges and individual tasks still need to be checked. Before confirming the booking, please verify the actual amount payable against the written quotation issued by us.

Are tunnel tolls, parking fees and other miscellaneous charges included?

Unless stated in the written quotation, tunnel tolls, bridge tolls, parking fees, push-cart charges, platform-to-lift fees and stair charges are not included. Please provide both addresses and the loading/unloading conditions when enquiring, so known items can be listed in advance. If the on-site situation differs from the original information, we will assess the actual need and proceed after confirming with you; please also check the payment arrangement for miscellaneous charges in advance.

Can a Tong Lau without a lift be moved?

An assessment can be arranged. Please provide the moving-out and moving-in floors, explain how many flights of stairs need to be carried, and photograph the stair width, corners and large items so we can judge the moving route. Some items may not pass through safely, so floor level alone is not enough to confirm they can be moved; the required manpower, method and any stair surcharge will be stated in the written quotation after confirmation.

If the lorry cannot reach the door, or has to transfer via a platform and lift, how should it be arranged?

Please separately state the nearest legal loading/unloading point at both the moving-out and moving-in locations, the approximate distance to the building entrance, and whether there are slopes, stairs or platforms along the way. If a lift transfer is required, please also explain the route and management office restrictions, and it is best to provide photos or a short video. These factors affect labour, manpower and push-route charges, and must be assessed and included in the quote first; we will not ask the driver to park illegally.

What if items are added or removed after the quote is confirmed?

Please provide an updated list as early as possible before the service, including photos, quantities, dimensions and dismantling/assembly needs for any additional items. We will re-check the workload, vehicle and manpower, and confirm whether the quote or timing needs to be adjusted. Under the current terms, if the actual items are fewer than the confirmed list, the originally agreed service fee will not be reduced automatically; if there are changes, please obtain written confirmation first.

FAQ

Packing and moving preparation

How to prepare boxes, furniture, appliances and personal items.

Can you provide boxes, packing materials or pack items into boxes for the customer?

You can enquire about boxes, packing paper, wardrobe boxes and packing-into-boxes services. Please state the quantity and requirements when requesting a quotation, and do not assume ordinary moving includes box packing for the customer. The current price list charges HK$15 per new box; other materials, manpower and delivery arrangements are subject to quotation. The box estimation tool uses internal dimensions of 21 in long, 14 in wide and 15 in high; please reconfirm the actual style and size when ordering.

How can I estimate the number of cardboard boxes if I do not know how many I need?

You can use the "box quantity estimate" function. Enter item details or upload photos, and it will estimate the number of boxes needed based on the internal box dimensions. Photos can only estimate visible items; items inside cupboards, drawers and anything not photographed must be counted separately. Extra space should also be allowed for fragile items. The result is for material preparation reference only and does not guarantee the actual number of boxes. Heavy items such as books should be packed into separate boxes; do not overfill boxes just to use fewer of them.

How should boxes be packed? Is there a weight limit?

Please separate heavy items into boxes, seal the bottom and top of each box, and label the outside with a number, room and fragile warning; do not just write "miscellaneous" without a list. The current terms state that each cardboard box, plastic box, red-white-blue bag or suitcase must not exceed 23 kg, and it is not recommended to fill every box to the limit. Fragile items must be protected separately, and liquids should be sealed; improper packing or overloading may require a reassessment of the handling method and charges.

Do the wardrobe, drawers and storage bed need to be emptied first?

Yes. Unless packing into boxes has been separately confirmed, please clear clothes, miscellaneous items and valuables from inside the furniture first, then pack them separately before moving. Items left inside cupboards add weight and may also be knocked about or put stress on the structure during moving, so you should not assume that closing the cupboard doors means the items can be moved together. Please also tell us in advance about movable shelves, glass and loose fittings, so we can assess protection or dismantling arrangements.

How should the fridge, washing machine and other appliances be prepared?

Please empty the fridge before the move. Allow time for power-off, defrosting and drying in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The washing machine should also be drained of water. Cables, hoses and removable accessories should be properly stored; for dismantling or reconnection involving fixed connections, water, electricity or gas, please first confirm whether a qualified person is needed. When to reconnect power after the move and how to secure the equipment should follow the manufacturer’s requirements, and the same waiting time should not be applied in all cases.

Can valuables, important documents and pets be moved together?

Cash, jewellery, identity documents, important papers and essential daily medicines are recommended to be kept by you personally, and to be packed in a separate carry bag rather than mixed into ordinary moving boxes. Pets should also be arranged in advance by the owner for safe care and transport; they cannot be handed over to the moving team as ordinary items. Please declare high-value or particularly fragile items in advance so that we can confirm the handling method and protection arrangements.

FAQ

Furniture and special items

Dismantling, access dimensions and items that cannot be identified by name.

Does moving include furniture dismantling and reassembly?

Whether this is included depends on the furniture structure, condition and the confirmed quotation. Not every item needs to be dismantled, and not every style is suitable for repeated assembly and disassembly. Please provide photos of the overall item, the connection points and the fixing method, and state whether there are instructions or original manufacturer's requirements. General furniture assembly and disassembly does not include water, electricity, gas or air-conditioning connections, or any drilling work; other services must be confirmed separately.

What if the furniture cannot fit through the main entrance, lift or staircase?

Please first measure the item's length, width and height, as well as the clear dimensions of the doorway, lift door, lift car, corridor turns and staircase. You may use "Furniture Move-In Check" as a preliminary reference. The tool cannot replace an on-site route assessment; whether furniture can be turned, dismantled or tilted to fit in must also be considered. Please provide dimensions and photos before confirming the service; after assessment, we will explain feasible methods and costs. We cannot guarantee that every item can be moved in.

Can I enquire about moving special items if I do not know the item name?

Yes. You do not need to know the official name first. Please take photos showing the full item, the base or stand, moving parts and any visible labels, and provide any known dimensions, weight and special protection requirements. If any information is unknown, please note that it could not be confirmed and do not guess. Also provide details of the collection and delivery environments. We will assess the moving method based on the actual situation and may request more information if needed.

Can I enquire about moving just one piece of furniture or a small number of items?

You can enquire about moving single items or a small number of items. Please provide the quantity, dimensions, both addresses and the access conditions on site. Even small quantities may still require two people, dismantling/reassembly or carrying up/down stairs, so the fee is not necessarily determined by quantity alone. The minimum charge, available dates and any other applicable fees must also be confirmed; please refer to the written quotation.

Can custom-made, built-in or aged furniture be dismantled and reassembled?

An assessment is required first. Custom-made and built-in furniture may be attached to the wall or existing dimensions, and aged boards, glued joints and loose fittings may not be suitable for repeated dismantling and reassembly. Please provide photos of the structure, wear and fixing points in advance, and we will explain whether it can be handled and the limits of the work. If demolition or wall repair is involved, these must be listed as separate work items, and it cannot be guaranteed that restoration will be possible after dismantling.

FAQ

Storage and other services

Arrangements for temporary storage, disposal, assembly and disassembly, and dismantling.

If the renovation is not ready or the old and new units cannot be handed over, can items be stored first?

You can enquire about moving with temporary storage, which suits renovation periods, mismatched move-in dates for old and new homes, or when space needs to be cleared first. Please provide the item list, expected storage-in and collection dates, and the collection and final delivery addresses. Storage-in, storage and return are separate processes, and the schedule, scope of work and charges must all be confirmed together; please also state any undecided dates in advance.

How is storage charged? Can collection be delayed or made in batches?

A separate quote is required based on the amount of items, storage period and the moving-in/out arrangements; do not estimate the total cost from a single storage fee alone. If you expect a delay, partial collection or a change of delivery address, please mention it when enquiring so that we can confirm the feasible arrangements, required notice and related charges. The actual collection time, storage conditions and any extension arrangement are subject to written confirmation, and do not mean items can be collected at any time on the same day.

What items are not suitable for storage? How should they be prepared before warehousing?

Perishable food, flammable or hazardous goods, and live plants are not suitable for general storage; cash, jewellery and important documents should also be kept by you. Before storage, number each box, take photos and make a list. Electrical appliances should be clean and dry; fridges and washing machines must be handled and dried in line with the manufacturer's instructions. For items made of special materials, or that are moisture-sensitive or temperature-sensitive, first confirm whether they are suitable for storage. Do not assume all items can be stored under the same conditions.

Can old furniture be disposed of at the same time as moving?

You can enquire together. Please list items for “move to new address”, “store” and “discard” separately, and provide photos and quantities. Large furniture, appliances or items that need dismantling first may require different handling methods and charges, so this must be confirmed in advance. Discarding is not automatically included in a standard move; please wait for it to be set out in writing before arranging it, and label items clearly on the day to avoid them being moved by mistake.

Can office relocation enquiries include furniture assembly/disassembly or removal as well?

You can raise this at the same time. We will assess each project separately, rather than treating all work as ordinary moving. Please provide floor plans or site photos, a list of furniture and equipment, building working-hour restrictions, and which parts need to be kept, moved or removed. If it involves plumbing/electrical work, fixed fittings, drilling into walls or other specialist tasks, the scope and work arrangements must be confirmed, and the fees will be listed separately in writing.

Can moving, disposal, storage and dismantling be completed on the same day?

This needs to be assessed based on the amount of work, site restrictions and the order of tasks, and cannot be confirmed as doable on the same day simply because multiple services were selected. For example, items may need to be cleared before dismantling can begin, or the warehouse and building may each have specific time slots, which may require separate arrangements. Please provide the handover date and available working dates, and we will check the workable process before confirming the dates and quotation for each service.

FAQ

On moving day and after-sales

On-site handover, rescheduling, weather, and issue follow-up.

Do I need to be present on moving day? What should the building management arrange first?

You or your authorised representative must be present at the scheduled time to help confirm the checklist, item destinations and handover. Please check in advance with both management offices the requirements for moving permits, cargo lifts, loading and unloading bays, floor protection and working hours. The current terms state that the team will wait for a maximum of 30 minutes; if you are late, a new appointment is required and 50% of the quoted fee will be charged. Please check the terms first and keep your phone reachable.

Is a tip required on moving day?

No need. We do not allow staff to ask for tips. Please pay the service fee according to the confirmed quotation and payment arrangement. Any miscellaneous charges that were listed in advance or separately confirmed are not tips. If anyone asks for an unclear payment, please contact the company first to verify the item and amount; do not treat unverified extra requests as mandatory.

How should I change or cancel an appointment?

Please contact us by phone or WhatsApp to discuss at least two working days before the service, no later than 3:00 pm. Making a request does not mean the rescheduling has been confirmed. Under the current terms, cancellation or changes on the service day may result in forfeiture of the deposit and an administrative fee of 50% of the quotation amount. Any payment made is not guaranteed to be automatically refunded; specific arrangements must be handled in accordance with the confirmed documents and applicable law, and do not limit rights that cannot be excluded under the law.

What happens in the event of a typhoon, heavy rain or other severe weather?

If there is a red or black rainstorm warning, a tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 or above, or any other situation that makes the service unsafe to carry out, we will suspend or reschedule as appropriate and notify you where possible. Under the existing terms, the arrangement is rescheduling rather than an automatic refund, and we will contact you on the next working day to discuss it. If the situation continues or there are other performance issues, they must be discussed according to the confirmed documents and applicable law; please do not assume the original time slot will definitely proceed as normal.

If items are found missing or damaged during handover, how should it be followed up?

Please count items against the checklist before and after the move, and if possible check for visible issues before the team leaves, take photos and raise them on the spot. If an issue could not reasonably have been discovered during inspection, please contact us as soon as possible after discovery, providing item details, before-and-after photos and the quotation or service record. Liability and compensation will be investigated and handled according to the applicable terms and written arrangements; it is not always a straight replacement value or full insurance payout. The team leaving does not mean statutory claims rights are automatically lost.

The above is for general enquiry only. Actual service is subject to assessment based on the items and site conditions; fees and service arrangements are subject to written confirmation and applicable terms.
